KORE Announces Expanded Executive Leadership Team

World’s Leading M2M and IoT and Services Provider Bolsters C-Suite for Rapid, Strategic Growth

ATLANTA & BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- KORE, the world’s largest managed wireless network services provider specializing in Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication and the Internet of Things (IoT), today announced key additions to its leadership team. The company’s new executive team adds senior leaders from the recent acquisition of Wyless, including Mike Coffey as Chief Operating Officer, Charles Kriete in the role of Chief Marketing Officer, Steve Sarno serving as Chief Financial Officer, and Gavin Carter, Chief Technology Officer. Each will report to KORE CEO Alex Brisbourne. The new KORE executives will operate from the company’s Boston-area hub, a key outpost for IoT innovation.

COO Mike Coffey is responsible for major operational functions, including the rapid integration of the businesses and their respective technologies. For the past eight years, Mike has leveraged an early background in software development and networking to successfully lead two technology enabled companies as CEO, Wyless and RISI, a niche SaaS data business. Earlier in his career, Mike was the technology executive at CMP Media responsible for an online technology platform driving a time of extensive growth, and previously Mike served as a managing consultant for eCommerce software provider ATG.

In the role of CMO, Charles Kriete is tasked with directing all aspects of marketing and product communications, as well as key channel partner, and carrier commercial relationships. Previous to KORE’s acquisition of Wyless Group, Charles served there as Chief Revenue Officer responsible for sales and product marketing globally. Prior to Wyless, Charles served as executive vice president of TDMobility, a joint venture between Tech Data Corporation (NASDAQ: TECD) and Brightstar Corporation. Charles was appointed as the lead executive after Tech Data and Brightstar jointly acquired OTBT, Inc. where he served as President, CEO and co-founder. Prior to OTBT, Inc. he held various positions with CDW Corporation (NASDAQ: CDW).

CFO Steve Sarno will manage all aspects of the KORE financial organization. Steve has more than 25 years of experience in finance, including roles as CFO for Wyless Group, VP of Finance and Chief Accounting Officer for Sapient Corporation (NASDAQ: SAPE) and Exa Corporation (NASDAQ: EXA). Earlier in his career, Steve was SVP of Finance at The Princeton Review (NASDAQ: REVU), and was a senior manager during his 10 years in the PricewaterhouseCoopers technology practice.

Gavin Carter assumes the new role of CTO, leading KORE to new technology innovations. An IT visionary, Gavin has a track record of delivering challenging multi-million dollar projects that drive business benefit through cultural, strategic and technical transformation. As CEO of JOC Group Inc. Gavin transformed the group into the world’s leading shipping information, and managed the sale to IHS Inc. (NYSE:IHS).

The new team members complement the existing responsibilities of Bob Metzler, Steve Healy, Chris Francosky, Felix Lluberes, Daniel To, Marion Code and Tom Lehn as they, together, lead a global staff of more than 350, with a keen focus on delivering the finest customer experiences in M2M and IoT. Leveraging the industry’s strongest talents and skills, KORE management is focused on a customer-centric strategy to further shape the rapidly evolving global M2M and IoT market. The company is one of the six largest providers of M2M/IoT services globally, inclusive of carriers, with customer base of more than 3,000 B2B companies globally, serving more than six million subscribers.

“The new KORE management team comprises an unparalleled skillset that combines experience, technology depth, wisdom and an ability to execute in tomorrow’s globally connected business environment,” said Alex Brisbourne, CEO of KORE. “More than ever before, KORE is uniquely positioned to lead the industry in bringing value-added M2M connectivity and applications services to market across a broader global footprint, executed by the best management team in our industry.”
